This semester I learned about the many tools offered online that I could use for future projects. I will use tools like Power point Mix and Prezi for future assignments in college, because they are greats tools that can make presentation more interesting to listen to. I would have like to work with Ipads in class. These are great device that have many tool we could have used in emerging tech. Overall, I enjoyed the course and I found many of the project fun to complete.

5/4/17 Website Reflection

I enjoyed making my website for this project. Wix was really easy to use, so it didn't take long to make my website. Although, it did take me a little while to figure out how to work the template. Once I figured it out it was very easy to use. I would definitely use this template again if I needed to make another website.

My Favorite Websites

Mary- I loved looking at her website. She made a website on the BVHS Orchestra program, which was very interesting. I enjoyed how organized everything was. Also, she used some pretty funny photos for the site.

Katie B- She made her website about Kay Club, which is a community service club at BVHS. The reason I loved her website so much was because of all of the cool patterns she used. Everything looked so neat and colorful, which made her website eye-catching.

4/18/17 Favorite New Apps

I enjoyed working on this app project. The app i chose was very fun to use and I will definitely be utilizing it more in the future. Also, it was really interesting to learn about my classmate's apps. After listening to the presentations I know I will download a few of the apps talked about.

4/13/17 Online Forms and Surverys (Survey Link)

I have taken many surveys using a google form. Although, I have never made a survey myself. I'm excited for this project because I know I will need to make surveys for classes in college. I've always wondered how to make a google survey, and I'm exited to now get the chance.

After Making the Survey:
 I found the survey very easy to make. The instructions were straight forward ,and it was easy to find specific buttons. Also, it was very easy to share the survey in my blog. I will definitely be using this feature in the future.

I utilize apps on my phone and iPad every single day of my life. I use apps like Twitter, Instagram, and Snap chat  to keep myself updated on current events and what my friends are up to. Also, I use the weather app on my phone to check the weather each morning, which helps me determine what I'm going to wear that day. I frequently use my Email app to check my email without having to log in to it through the internet. Each of my apps has a specific purpose but all help me through my everyday life. Having to go a day without app would be very hard because the simplify everyday tasks. If I had no apps I would have top take extra steps to complete my tasks for the day.

4/3/17 Weekend Summary

This weekend I went to prom! My group actually went to Dave and Buster's for dinner and played games once we finished eating. Surprisingly, the food was really good! Next, my group went to the dance.  It took place in the Ironwoods Park Barn, which was really fun. After the dance my group and I went to after prom. I won 5 times in a row in Blackjack. Sadly, I didn't win any of the prizes, but many of my friends won so I was very happy for them! They had so many fun games and food too. Prom was an experience I will never forget!

3/31/17 NCAA Reflection

By making a bracket in excel I learned new tools that I have never before used in an Excel Spreadsheet. In the past I have filled out brackets but I did not fill out a full bracket this year. This is partially due to the fact that my bracket never turns out well. I followed KU's run in the tournament this year. I was hoping to see them in the final game this year because of the amount of talent they had on the team this year. I had never used google sheets before completing this assignment. I learned how to use a new alternative to Microsoft Excel. After this assignment i also learned that I prefer to use Excel over Google Sheets.

I never get out anymore & need ideas for great some movies or a TV Series to watch in my free time. What is the best movie(s) you have seen in the past year.  Is there a TV Series that I just HAVE to see? What is the genre of the movie(s) you are recommending (I don't like horror...). Convince me that your movie(s) and/or TV Series suggestions are ones that I should see immediately, but don't give the plot away.  GO! :-)


I have seen a lot of good movie this past year. My top pick would have to be La La Land! The reason I love this movie so much is because of the amazing songs performed in the movie. The movie follows the story of two people in LA that are trying to follow their dream to fame. The TV shows I recommend are Parks and Rec, Grey's Anatomy, Stranger Things, The Crown, and The People vs. OJ Simpson. None of these shows are scary, so you should enjoy them very much! The Crown is a Netflix original that tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II, the longest reigning monarch in the United Kingdom.  The drama follows the challenges she faces throughout her early rule. The People vs. OJ Simpson, another Netflix Original, has been my most recent watch. I got so invested into this show that i finished the 11 episode series in 48hrs! The show follows the famous OJ Simpson murder trial, and gives insight to the experience through the lawyers working the trial. If you like watching a legal drama unfold, you should definitely give this show a watch ( You will learn so much more about the trial!) .

3/21/17 Spring Break

This spring break I stayed home in Kansas. Although I would have rather been on a tropical vacation like the rest of my classmates, I still had a lot of fun with my family. My mom planned many fun a activities for us to do. First, my family played bowling and bocce at Pinstripes. My mom and I also went to the St. Patrick's Day Parade downtown before heading out for a traditional Irish dinner with my entire family. On the last day of spring break my family and I went to Top golf. I really enjoyed this experience, even though I am not a very good golfer. Later that night my mom,sister,and I saw Beauty and the Beast. This was my favorite Disney movie as a child, so I really enjoyed getting to see a different adaptation of the story.

 I got a high score of 81!

3/7/17 Photo Editing Reflection

I used the websites befunky.com, pizap.com, and fotor.com. Each website had a free trial, which offered many different filters to edit my photos. Each website was easy to use  and helped me edit my photos quick and easily. Fotor had an older platform, so i wasn't as used to using such a dated website.  Be funky, however, seemed to be very new and was easy to find everything I needed. Pizap was the only website that i was able to make a collage with multiple pictures.

3/8/17 Infographic Peer Feedback (Absent)

1. Katie B: I loved how she use pictures to talk about her topic. Her info graphic was very organized and nice to look at! Also, the font she used was really cool!
2. Maddie B: Maddie's topic was diabetes. I liked how she kept her color scheme consistent throughout her info graphic. She also did a great job using  visuals to help portray her message.
3.  Lillian D: Her topic was on the top 3 national parks in the United States. This was a very interesting topic and Lillian did a great job not using to many words. She added many cool charts to put her text in, which made her topic even more interesting to learn about.
4. Will B: His topic was comparing and contrasting Sony and X Box. I think Will did a great job keeping his theme throughout his info graphic. The colors really popped and made his topic really fun to read about.
 5. Olivia D. : Olivia researched whether dark or milk chocolate is healthier. Her topic was very interesting and honestly made me very hungry. Her pictures were a great aid to the facts she presented and made sure not to over power the reader with information.

My thoughts:
 Overall I feel this assignment was a success. I think using piktochart.com, iwas able to explore a new way to relay information that is actually intresting to look at. Althogh it took a while to creat, the final product is definitely worth all of the hard work. I love having my information neat and organized and this is great tool for me to use to organize information I'm given on in a school setting.

2/27/17 Inforgraphic Reflection

I learned the many tools available to me when making an info graphic. This made the process fun, because there were many cool feature I was able to add to my own info graphic. Info graphics a fun,creative way to share information on any topic. I chose to to make a study guide for my upcoming AP Gov Midterm for my info graphic. This shows that info graphics can be used in the classroom too and Piktochart was is an easy site for students to use. I will definitely be using this website again!

2/23/17 Infographics

An info graphic is an image used to tell specific information. Many info graphics use charts and visuals to relay the information, instead of using words. The purpose of an info graph is to provide information in a format that is easy to read. By using pictures and charts, people are more likely to be more engaged in the information provided. The types information that can be put on an info graph are endless. Whether it's for a school project or a magazine, info graphs can give information about any topic desired. The best way an info graph can convey its'  message to an audience is through charts and statistics. These visuals will give people interesting information in a way that a book can not. Personally, I will use info graphs for school. I think they are great way to make my study guides more interesting to look at. Hopefully, info graphs will be a new tool I will use to study for tests!

2/16/17 My Dream Business Idea

My dream business idea is to open up my own clothing store. It will ave clothes, shoes, and many accessories aimed at today's teenagers and young adults. I would locate mu business in the Town Center Shops area,because I would receive a lot of business there. Here are some of the products I made on Lucid Press that will help promote my store to the public.

2/21/17 Canva vs. Lucid Press

I enjoyed the experience using Canva and Lucid Press. The easiest platform to use was Lucid Press. This was because they had a bing search to find pictures and backgrounds to put on my specific template; Where as, on Canva I had to search a long time to find my favorite background. This made Lucid Press more trendy for younger people. On Lucid Press you're able to personalize you template with the Bing search. However, Canva offered many cool templates under the free section. I liked using Lucid Press the most, because the options it provided me helped me make my business poster my own.

2/14/17 3 Useful Canva Posts

This was the poster template on Canva. I used this to put a famous quote I liked on it, in hopes that it will hang on my wall. This is a great tool to use if you need a poster-sized document for school, work, or personal use.

This was a bag tag template. I personalized it by making it a tag I can use for my mom's birthday this March. This is a great tool if you want to customize a bag tag for any occasion.

This was the card template on Canva. I used it to make myself grad party invites. This was an easy way to make my invites look very professional. I could also use this template to make other cards or invites in the future.

2/13/17 Blog Post

My Weekend

Over the weekend I went to the sweetheart dance with all of my friends. The morning of the dance I went to Von Maur to pick pick up my shoes with my mom. Then, I got my hair and nails done. I ended up doing my own makeup, which didn't turn out as bad as I was expecting. I had a lot of fun with my friends on Saturday, but it was sad knowing that it was one of the last dances I will get to attend in high school. On Sunday I spent the whole day up at my church, because it was the last service with one of my church's' Rectors who is moving very soon. He also ran all of the youth events at my church, so out was a very bittersweet day knowing he was leaving.

• Right now I am learning how to use a platform called, Canva. This is a website i have never heard before taking Emerging Tech. It will be a great website to create invitations to my grad party this year.
